Acetylene Purity Standard

Thai standard TIS229-2540 specifies two quality classes of acetylene.

  • Class 1: Purity 99.5% 'Laboratory grade'
  • Class 2: Purity 98.0% 'Industrial grade'

Some applications require higher grade called Atomic Absorption (AA grade).

Japanese International standard JIS K1902-1980 specifies acetylene purity of 98.0%.
